NEW PRINT: Peace, Love & Breastfeeding

To Purchase, Please Visit My Etsy Shop
Breastfeeding is a deeply personal and powerful relationship, a bond unlike any other. I don't know a single nursing mama that isn't proud as a peach to celebrate it, and with good cause. I can attest to that not only by my own experiences, but as a support counselor for other nursing moms

Printed on professional quality heavyweight (255gsm) photo paper that is water, glare, and fingerprint resistant. Available sizes are w 8.5" x h 11" and w 8" x h 10". Customs sizes are available upon request. Please contact me PRIOR to ordering for details as there may be different pricing for alternate sizes.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this item will be donated to the NMAC - Abington Nursing Moms. The Nursing Mothers Advisory Council (NMAC) is comprised of a group of trained volunteer women who have breastfed their children and who wish to help others have a positive nursing experience. NMAC volunteers offer support and counseling, free of charge, without judgement.

Mom Made: The Clingy Cord!

What mother hasn't found themselves in this scenario: You're in the car with your toddler securely strapped in the back in their car seat. She's happily gazing out the window, sipping on some juice or playing with their favorite plushy. Then, suddenly, you hear a dull "thud" followed by a piercing scream as said juice/plushy is thrown to the floor. Especially if you're a shorty like me, there's no safely reaching back to pick up the dropped object to stop the screaming.

Enter the Clingy Cord, invented by just such a mom, with three kids under six!. Designed to attach to car seats, high chairs, shopping carts, strollers and more, the Clingy Cord includes loops and a sliding knot to hold baby's bottle, sippy, favorite toy or blanket! with 3 kids under 6!

I can tell you from experience that this has made car trips infinitely more pleasant, and has saved Zoey's juice cup from being thrown to the dirty floor of restaurants, grocery stores and playgrounds! Makes a great shower gift- a definite must have for any new mom!

You can purchase the Clingy Cord from CaitiMacCreations here.
Find the Clingy Cord on Facebook here.

Nursing Mother & Baby Statue

With the abundance of artwork on the internet, rarely do I come across a piece that makes me look twice, never mind one that repeatedly draws me back after first viewing. Strikingly beautiful and masterfully crafted, "Mother and Baby" by Russia-born Jakob Wainshtein appeals to me on so many personal levels-as a woman, mother, breastfeeding counselor, woodworking artist. Completely handmade from a solid piece of Basswood, with a French polish covering, this stunning portrait of mother and baby nursing perfectly captures the closeness, simplicity and natural love of this intimate relationship.

Wainshtein has been perfecting his unique art for over 40 years. He is known for his original wooden carvings, artistic photography, industrial ergonomics, and numerous inventions and designs in the area of mechanical engineering. His delicate and unique stylization of the female form is something to behold.

If it were within my means I'd snap this baby up in an instant. Sadly, it is not, but someone should own this lovely piece! You can purchase this and other wonderful works from Wainshtein's Etsy shop: Jakobarts

look: Ian Francis

I just stumbled onto Ian Francis yesterday, and already I'm head over heels in love. Maybe someday I'll be lucky enough to own of his limited edition, signed prints or giclees, but ranging from $500-1400.00, that won't be for a long, long time. I opted instead to go with this custom framed from ArtPassions.com. With free shipping, the framed, print and mat came in at under $100, a much better fit for my current budget.
"A Girl Contemplates Romance/Suicide"

From the Lieberman Gallery website: Ian Francis draws his inspiration from modern life, particularly television, world events, celebrities and day-to-day living. His work is about pornography and news reports from war zones, instead of sex and death. Ian uses a mixture of painting, drawing, photography and scans of textures which are all layered together then edited digitally. "I'm interested in life, small inter-personal relationships, celebrities etc. Against the backdrop are a lot of huge apocalyptic things that you read about or see in the news that aren't always immediately obvious when you walk out the door".

Some sites where you can view/purchase his work:
